The Blue Mountains

Our third day in Sydney we decided to head up to the Blue Mountains. It was a 2 hour train ride from Sydney Central.

We took a 2km hike over to the first lookout where the 3 sister’s range is. It was an unbelievable view. There were mountains surrounding the area, and full of many trees and rocks.

Next we walked down a small path and took a bridge to a ledge on one of the three sisters. It was a steep little trail but we managed to do it and got some great photos to show for it.

We then wandered over to the information centre, grabbed a map and decided to take the Prince Henry pathway along the top of the mountain. There were about 10 different lookout platforms along the way and we stopped at all of them. After about 2 hours of hiking we got to the Leura Cascades. They were beautiful waterfalls nestled along the bottom of the mountain under much tree cover.

It was amazing to see, and one of the highlights of our Sydney trip so far!
